Beth Armstrong talks about Spinning Thursday June 6 6-8 pm
Beth is joining us at Sip and Stitch to talk about spinning yarn: Beth took up her knitting needles in earnest in 2013. Two years later a friend convinced her to take a spinning class, and she has been spinning ever since--first on a drop spindle and then on a wheel. She considers herself very much a beginning spinner but is delighted to share what she has learned so far. Beth will demonstrate spinning on a wheel and spindle. She will answer (as best she can) any and all questions. She will talk about the elements of yarn construction, the different fibers that can be spun, and why she finds spinning to be so enjoyable--and even magical.
Cost is free.
World-wide Knit (or Crochet) in Public Day Saturday, June 8, 2019
Come out to do your stitching in public and help us with our continuing our mission to collect 100 knit or crocheted blue hats for #HatNotHate. These hats will be donated to school age children through STOMP Out Bullying. For every blue hat you donate you can choose to receive a $5 gift card to Around the Table Yarns or we will make a $5 donation to STOMP Out Bullying. If you have already made a blue hat for us plan to bring any project and join our challenge to finish projects! Plan to bring an outdoor chair or blanket. We’ll provide snacks, drinks and motivation!
We will meet in the VAN AKEN DISTRICT – MARKET HALL AREA, 3401 Tuttle Road, 44122 Shaker Heights
We plan to meet outside the Market Hall, but if the weather does not cooperate we will be inside the Market Hall. Look for the blue balloons!
