Ito Kido

ITO Kido is the sock yarn within the ITO collection. There is no specific sock yarn in Japan, therefore Japanese yarn designers were guided by the functional aspects of socks during the development process. Kido is a breed specific wool yarn from the rare breed of Cotswolds sheep. The long staple fiber makes this yarn very durable therefore it was traditionally used for outer wear and socks. For its nice luster it also used to be compared to mohair. With Kido ITO introduces a 100% natural yarn that is well suitable for socks and cardigans. The beautiful color compositions are a modern Japanese interpretation of English Tweed therewith reminding us of the origin of the Cotswolds breed around a 1000 years ago in England.
