Time to lighten up! Do you have a summer sweater pattern you’re excited to knit? This class will help you get off on the right foot. The first session will focus on choosing a size. We will measure ourselves and measure a sweater whose fit we like. We’ll calculate our gauge using a generous (6” square) swatch in your chosen yarn. Then, using Peg’s popular Sizing Worksheet, we will figure out which pattern size you should follow. After we all work independently on our patterns for a few weeks, the second session will focus on checking fit, measuring for sleeves or body length, finishing, etc.
Students can use any pattern and any gauge. Sweaters can be top down or bottom up. Peg is going to knit https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shona-top using Crealino linen from the shop. You can choose any pattern you wish, but some ideas can be found in Peg’s summer sweater bundles:
